Venice, Italy – October 12, 2019
Dear friend of art photography and other art!
Greetings from Venice, Italy! I hope this finds you well and happy – even if the world is not.
This last week, I have spent in Venice to speak with visitors (see new friends from Greece and Norway above) from all over the world in front of my SPAR – Silk Peace Art Road installation.
It’s my “Venice Future Dialogues” which is an integral part of SPAR: to promote cross-cultural dialogues. And – happy to tell! – it works! The moment people get a sense of what SPAR is about, they open up and share their fears and hopes, political values and … they all tell me that war is so wrong.
In general, citizens are so much wiser and decent than the leaders they get through elections. How thought-provoking!
The Venice Art Biennale
Venice is the art place of the world: 229 exhibitions all over the city – national pavilions and mixtures at the official 58th Venice Art Biennale, smaller galleries, huge palaces, apartments and centres filled with high-quality art from all corners of the world, visited by people from all over the world.
One such place is the European Cultural Centre’s exhibition “Personal Structures” at Palazzo Mora where my SPAR – Silk Peace Art Road – installation is shown, together with works by 169 other artists who also exhibit at Palazzo Bembo.
Over 300 000 will visit Palazzo Mora up to November 24. If you have a chance, go there. If you do, SPAR is found in Room # 216 on the 2nd floor. Yoko Ono had her installation in that room two years ago. It’s now a peace art room.
Next: To make SPAR travel from Venice to China
This is my dream vision: To get SPAR travelling from Venice all the way – through the Belt and Road Initiative countries – to China and around there.
I’m reaching out to dozens of contemporary museums, galleries, art spaces, embassies, and art institutions in each country with my SPAR Exhibition Partnership Program.
It’s a big challenge. Do you have contacts in such institutions in these countries?

SPAR at Lund
At the “Night of Culture” in Lund, Sweden in September I had lots of visitors coming for the new exhibition. It consists of the single photos and collages that sit in the installation here in Venice plus some other works from China in 1983 and some studies.
That is also what will be shown at the “Art Evening” in Lund on October 19 at 17-23. Welcome!
You are most welcome to visit my studio here in Lund, Sweden. It is open any time – but by appointment only on janoberg@mac.com or
phone me at +46 (0)738 525200.
New portfolio
There is a new portfolio on the homepage where you can see some of the works now on show. It also contains 20 close-ups of the painted surface of the installation, the interaction of the acrylic paint and the photographic works printed on canvas; they are reproduced with enhanced sharpness to give you a sense of the texture and every detail.
Art recommendations
I am not an art critic but an art recommender. On my photo-and-other-art blog, you’ll find some recommendations – Sean Scully’s “Human” here in Venice, in particular. An absolutely “different,” deeply personal show in a church on the San Giorgio Island in the Venezia Laguna.

Instagram
Anybody with the slightest interest in art – producers, exhibitors, or lovers – are on Instagram. So am I. 1 billion active users per month.
I make daily updates – images, stories or videos. It’s a good place for you and me to link up. You can also see it all on your phone or desktop even if you are not on Instagram.
“Global Art“
GlobalArt – the photo-and-other-art magazine on Flipboard – marvellous to “flip” through on your smartphone. The global art world curated for you…one place at your fingertips.

Did you miss…
– the preceding PostArt # 74? Don’t worry, it’s here.

Next
I will begin to send “PostArt” a little more frequently and include new editions and an article I am working on concerning the Venice Future Dialogues.
My best – and have a good weekbegin ๐
