Edition of 12 of each size. Each is signed and numbered on the front, sometimes also on the verso. Printed by Jan Oberg on Hahnemühle or Canson fine-art inkjet papers. Normally, available in four sizes. The buyer receives a signed Certificate of Authenticity with the print.
Reflect a sensitivity to what happens in our troubled West, the US in particular. “Capitol Hill, January 7, 2021” is inspired by the terrible events on Capitol Hill in Washington. It’s a collage based on Jasper Johns’ Flag from 1958. It contains a screenshot of President Trump when he spoke during the storming of Capitol and the image from inside with armed guards ready to shoot. Sadly, it is an America in deep crisis. Colours have been carefully calibrated to make Trump the darkest and distorting the flag’s brightness. I’m doing this with the greatest respect for Jasper Johns whose works I have admired over 40 years.
