Dear friend

Welcome to shoot # 49

The above photo, “Abstract (Yellow Chair) 2016” is a digital gift from Oberg PhotoGraphics to you – a moment of contemplation or beauty with which I wish you a good Sunday and ‘weekbegin’.

A special welcome to new subscribers, visitors and friends on social media. Here is the preceding shoot that you didn’t get.

London – where the photo action is…
Photography is the art form in most rapid development. You see it at auctions, museums, specialised galleries, art books and in the whole way digitalisation and sharing has changed virtually everything. Cities like Marrakesh and Swedish Landskrona invest to profile themselves at photographic centres in the future. It’s fascinating, inspiring and I am happy to have embarked on art photography at this time.

In May it’s London! There is Photo London at Somerset House, May 19-22 where 80 of the world’s lading photo galleries exhibit. It’s Photographers’ Gallery with Deutsche Börse prize winners, Stephen Gill and more. It’s Tate Modern with Performing for the Camera.

And here The Telegraph tells you about the best photography exhibitions this year in London. If this is is not enough, here are ten photo galleries.

I’ll be there and report on my blog in May. Anybody going too in May?

What is shoot about?
It’s about getting access to the online GlobalArt magazine. I need to gather inspiring stuff somewhere; when I share it anyone who clicks will find something that inspires their lives or business too.

It’s sharing of art for cultural bridgebuilding and civilisation – the opposite of war and bombing. And it’s news about a photo and other art blog.

“Myrothko # 15” © Jan Oberg 2016

shoot is about an online exhibition space. Some spend as much time there as they would in a gallery – many and different categories, photos you can enlarge. Important for anyone living far from Sweden and mad possible thanks to modern technology.

Exhibition “Abstract Real” on into May
Visitors tell me that my studio is more like a home than a cool, commercial gallery where it is all about selling. You can watch photos, read books and discuss art and global affairs with me. By appointment only – but anytime; and I am present to care for each visitor.

Photography that is non-figurative, doesn’t re-present something out there. Some words about it on my blogHave a sneak peek here of some of the works that are on show. You are always welcome – just call first!

Remember
– that it’s the arts that help us remain human…

My best
Jan Oberg
