Hi dear friend

Welcome to shoot # 39

Inspiration guaranteed – and you are let off searching hundreds of sources yourself. Click ‘Follow’ there.

The “Rouen Cathedral Suite 1-10”
Above “Rouen Cathedral # 4” – Digital technology such as Photoshop permits us to experiment with raw image materials in ways that was unthinkable in art photography just a couple of decades ago. It’s fascinating.

What counts, in my view, is the final work’s appearance and what it transmits to the spectator.

For sure, we could not do without the inspiration of those who created magnificent art before us. I like to take inspiration from contemporary classics.

Here’s a project I am really proud of having completed last year: “Rouen Cathedral Suite # 1-10” inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s 1969-series which was based on Claude Monet’s impressionist paintings in the 1890s of that magnificent cathedral. More on the idea and how it was executed on my art blog and watch a new 1:30 min video about it here.

Abstraction

Abstract # 7 – 2015 – Click on it!

The abstract can be in the real, the real can be in abstraction – think Monet! Photography doesn’t have to be documentary, or “realistic”.

It can be a medium for non-figurative explorations of shapes, colours and compositions to the same extent that a brush to a canvas can.

Twelve other abstracts on my homepage.
