Lund, Sweden – October 30, 2015
Welcome to shoot # 30
–Β a digital photo gift from Oberg Photographics – a moment of meditation with which I wish you a good weekend and “weekbegin.”
The picture above is from southern Sweden a few days ago – autumnal nature bordering on abstraction.
The “flipping” Global Art Magazine
The art world is huge and bewildering.Β Wouldn’t it be great to haveΒ oneΒ (free) place withΒ diverse stuff at your fingertips – full of exciting articles, photos, videos and books? That’s what the online “flipping”Β GlobalArt MagazineΒ that I curate is all about. Try it, browse and follow.
Museum Franz Gertsch in Burgdorf outside Bern, Switzerland
VisitedΒ this beautiful contemporary art museumΒ last Sunday.Β One of the exhibitions isΒ Gertsch’s and Andy Warhol’s portraits of Johanna, a woman in Vienna.
Franz Gertsch’s works are monumental, hyper/photo realist and painted over months and years with tiny brushes. If it were a photograph you would say that he paints the pixels.
Director Arno Stein kindly guided me around the museum. Here a video of Gertsch’s painting “Winter”. I was blown away by the portraits and the nature works. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration, bridging photo and painting!
Exhibition news
“Pictures At An Exhibition” is now on show at my studio together withΒ theΒ “Rouen Cathedral Suite # 1-10”Β inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s 1969-series based on Claude Monet’s impressionist paintings is also on show. More on the idea and how it was executed on my art blog.
It’s the time of the year when we look for giftsΒ
Online art sales is growing fast but human communication is still number one. If you’d like to exhibit, lease or acquire a piece on show at the moment or from myΒ homepage, I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
What more lasting gift than a photo in limited edition, signed and numbered and with print documentation? I do the entire shoot-to-print process and the works are only sold by me.
My best
Jan Oberg
