โSPAR – Silk Peace Art Roadโ
September 16 – December 30, 2023
It is my major project these years, beginning in 2018 with travelling around for six weeks in China without any pre-made plans; I took 6000 photos. Or, you may say it started 40 years ago when, as part of a Danish cultural delegation – arranged by the Denmark China Friendship Association – I took lots of photos over 16 days. At that time, of course, I did not know what would come out of it 40 years later.
So, this is a global art project for peace, for inter-cultural dialogue between China and The West.
It consists of a multi-media installation that was shown at the European Cultural Centre as part of the Venice Biennale in 2019. After that, it should have been sent and touring around in China, but the Corona pandemic stopped all those plans.
I spent the waiting time productively; I created ten “Combines” – collage photo and acrylic paintings and worked with the 1983 and 2018 photos (digitalising the first from Kodak slide film) and also created several collages – and there is more to come until it finally goes to China.
The exhibition also includes many documentary and collage images that sit in the installation, here printed on paper, not on canvas as in the installation.
SPAR is explained from many angles in the main and sub-menus here.
If you like it, please consider to make a contribution to help me cover the rather high costs of such a complex multi-year project. I am not paid or in the hands of anyone, no government and no gallery, because I insist on being free. But more importantly, you’ll be making a contribution to an urgently needed, concrete people-to-people step inter-cultural dialogue, mutual understanding and a future peace between China and the West.
It is secure, simple and fast. So go here. Many many thanks!
So, walk around the Open Studio/Exhibition # 28 below and see SPAR
I’m always happy if you write a comment or two underneath…
There are also a couple of short videos where I present SPAR – look under this silent online presentation:
First, a video where – in Venice – I explain the SPAR Installation.
Secondly, a video from 2019-2020 when I showed some SPAR works in my studio:
Thanks for visiting!

I want this art home to offer you an online experience – rich but not complicated to move around in – that resembles as much as possible your ‘live’ visit.
But of course, I also love to welcome visitors – by appointment only – to my studio/gallery. It’s on the first floor of our house on a quiet street in Lund in southern Sweden, some 90 square meters.
Visitors tell me it’s more like a home than a gallery, and that makes me very happy. And if you tell someone about my works; it’s a great help for those of us who are free, non-commercial and not in the hands of a gallery.

Applause to you site, very nice “walking” through you home with graphical art and lots of books! I really like your colourful art and the idea of blending Chinese and West culture, blending paint and photography, peace and art, a great cocktail. I most certainly must visit your gallery some time. For my part I do what I can to increase cooperation with my existing Chinese business partners/suppliers. All the best!
Thank you so very much, dear Peter! You’re welcome any time – by appointment!
