PhotoArtually Newsletter coming soon

I’ve spent months in thinking up a concept for an Oberg PhotoGraphics Newsletter. PhotoArtually is what I have come up with as an answer to these two questions:

How do you communicate as one of a much larger movement – give-and-take?

How do you attract art loving people’s attention – and potential clients – by not just broadcasting your own works and achievements?

Whether you are an accomplished artist or a promising beginner, people want to gain something, not being told just what to pay attention to or pay for. Promoting oneself without giving something – as many still do – also militates against the fundamental idea and beauty of it all: sharing, mutual learning, give-and-take with no money involved.

Social media is about sharing. As frequently as I can, I share links to art stuff on both Facebook, Twitter and Google+. I share images and appreciate other people’s images on Instagram. It does take time but it also gives me a lot – what’s wrong with gift-giving, after all?

I have seen how it helps me connect with superb enthusiast and professional photographers, learn from them how they create both their art and their public relations. It’s a wonderful world also because this can be done sitting at one’s desk, having a computer or an iPhone – and, there you go, there is a world of exciting stuff out there.

Overwhelming? Yes, of course – billions of images and stuff. But the world is overwhelming for good and for bad; I know that also as a peace researcher. But the alternative is self-isolation, lack of vision and of inspiration. And one learns to distinguish quite quickly between what is vauable to you and what is not.

That’s what PhotoArtuallyphoto, art and what is actually going on – serves to do: To give you a lot of interesting articles and images that I see myself, use in my work, feel joy at seeing and even more so at sharing. Most people don’t have the time to gather interesting stuff from literatlly hundreds of sources around the world. I could say that I also don’t have that time – but I have to and want to keep abreast with developments, keep in the forefront and learn, learn and learn – and share and connect with people in that incredibly fascinating and inspiring world.

The newsletter is not too frequent, occasional, free and you can unsubscribe anytime with just one click.
